The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the latest knowledge and techniques in resuscitation science and treatment recommendations. The course adheres to the guidelines set forth by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. The BLS training program covers a range of topics such as the recognition and management of cardiac and respiratory arrest, the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and the effective provision of high-quality chest compressions and ventilation.
The BLS certification course is essential for healthcare professionals, such as EMT, paramedic, nurses and physicians, who are involved in the management of cardiac and respiratory emergencies. The course offers continuing education hours for Emergency Medical Services (CAPCE) and Dental Professionals (AGD/PACE). Successful completion of the BLS course requires participants to demonstrate proficiency in the required skills, which include performing high-quality chest compressions, providing effective ventilations, and using an AED. The BLS certification is valid for two years, after which participants are required to complete a renewal course to maintain their certification.
